A Casting V-Belt Pulley is a V-belt pulley made by the metal casting process, most typically with cast iron. It is intended to transfer mechanical power between spinning shafts via a V-belt. The pulley features one or more precisely carved V-shaped grooves that give a solid grip on the belt, resulting in efficient power transfer with little slippage.
Cast iron is the recommended material because to its high strength, superior wear resistance, vibration dampening, and extended service life. Casting V-belt pulleys are commonly used in motors, pumps, compressors, conveyor systems, fans, agricultural gear, and industrial equipment.
The production process begins with creating a pulley pattern. A mould is created with sand or another appropriate molding material, and molten cast iron is poured into the mould cavity. After the metal has solidified, the casting is removed, cleaned, and machined to achieve the desired dimensions, groove profile, bore size, and keyway.
